Hi, Gary,
It's a great pleasure to read your opinion from Japan.

I heard that Microsoft and Yahoo finally got the agreement of their search business yesterday. It's a big event, but has no big surprise, because Yahoo has no other effective strategic choices. I think this deal implies the victory of Microsoft and the decline of Yahoo. Maybe it's too late, but we should know that Microsoft is still a super rich company. Maybe they will do everything to beat Google. Even though we anticipate there’s no drastic change with the share and the players in the internet business within a short period, no one can tell the story of the world of 5 years from now.
Anyway it's true that Google is a dominant company in the internet search business. But I think it's harmful if it becomes the true monopoly. So I am sending a very silent cheering to MS/Yahoo federation, even though I am not a Microsoft fanatic.

I had my people obtain (by means I cannot admit to) from the Google Labs a model of the new Google OS and even better than that, the platform they plan on running it on! It's a radical new design slate computer! Sure enough it browses the internet, runs Google-Apps, has a task bar, prints and has a true chrome interface!
I will withhold judgement right now but I am not shaking in my boots over competition from this thing! I could be wrong, what do you guys think?

Gary,

Insightful. You and I both know that MS is not going to give up without a fight. MS is pushing Sharepoint and from what can see in my marketplace customers are buying -- and further entrenching MS into the accounts.

Nobody would like to eliminate MS from my day to day, but my corporate needs, mainly Sharepoint, force me into IE and thus into XP, etc., etc.
